The heart shape diamond
The heart is a brilliant cut with a cleft at the top and a point at the bottom. It takes real skill to cut well, and a well-cut heart has a clear outline, even lobes and plenty of sparkle. The side stones are matched to the heart centre diamond so the three sit in proportion.
Why a trilogy ring?
A trilogy, or 3 stone, ring sets a centre diamond between two smaller side stones. It gives a wider, fuller look across the finger than a solitaire, and the three stones are often said to stand for your past, present and future together.
Why 18ct yellow gold?
18ct yellow gold is 75% pure gold, with the deep, warm colour people picture when they think of a gold ring. It is not plated, so the colour never fades. Some of our yellow gold designs hold the diamond in a white platinum head, so the stone looks as white as possible while the band stays golden. Choosing your heart diamond
Choose a diamond of at least half a carat, as the heart outline is hard to see on smaller stones. A ratio close to 1.00 keeps the shape balanced. Hearts can hold colour in their lobes, so G to H is a good choice.
