9ct gold diamond earrings give you solid gold settings for less than 18ct. Choose 9ct white, yellow or rose gold and a matched pair of certified diamonds, and we make them to order in our own workshop.
Why 9ct Gold?
9ct gold is 37.5% gold, hallmarked 375. It costs less than 18ct and wears well. If you have sensitive ears or a known metal allergy, ask us about the alloy, or choose platinum.
Made in Our Own Workshop
Every piece is handmade by our family workshop in the Cotswolds, jewellers since 1969, and hallmarked 375 for 9ct gold. Not sure whether 9ct or 18ct is right for you? Book a virtual meeting or contact us and we will talk it through.
Studs or Halo Earrings?
Diamond studs are the classic everyday choice: a single diamond held in claws or a bezel setting, which suits work and evenings alike. Halo earrings surround each centre stone with a ring of smaller diamonds, so they look larger and brighter for the same centre size. In 9ct gold, either style leaves more of your budget for the diamonds themselves.
Choosing Your Diamonds
You choose the diamonds for each pair, natural or lab grown, and we match them for size and colour so the two earrings look the same. For studs, 0.25ct to 0.50ct per earring is a popular everyday size; 0.75ct and over makes more of a statement.
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. 9ct is a hard alloy that holds the diamonds securely, and earrings take less wear than rings, so 9ct settings last very well.
Some people with a metal allergy react to the other metals in 9ct gold. If you have sensitive ears, ask us about the alloy before you order, or choose platinum.
Yes. You choose the diamonds for each pair, natural or lab grown, and we match them for size and colour before we set them.
It depends on the design: the more gold in the setting, the bigger the saving, because 9ct has half the pure gold of 18ct. Each product page shows the price in every metal, so you can compare.
