Clive Billing: Diamond Geezer Faces the Dragons
Bourton-on-the-Water’s own, Clive Billing, recently faced the formidable Dragons’ Den panel. The charismatic owner of diamondgeezer.com, an online diamond retailer, stepped into the spotlight hoping to secure investment for his business.
Known affectionately as the “Diamond Geezer,” Billing had established diamondgeezer.com as the first UK jeweller in the online diamond market. Offering a diverse range of diamonds, engagement rings, and bespoke jewellery, his business aimed to democratize the diamond industry and make these precious stones accessible to a wider audience.
The Dragons were impressed by Billing’s enthusiasm but had tough questions about his business model. Despite the challenges, three Dragons saw potential and offered an investment deal. However, after careful consideration, Billing decided to turn down the offer.
Clive Billing, the "Diamond Geezer," has come a long way since his appearance on Dragon's Den. Whilst Clive declined the potential investment, the show proved to be a turning point in his business journey.
On the subsequent Dragon's Den: Where Are They Now? episode, viewers were treated to a heartwarming update on Clive's progress. One of the most surprising moments came when James Caan, the Dragon who had previously offered an investment, visited Clive's offices.

Caan was visibly impressed by the strides Clive had made since their Den encounter. The entrepreneur had successfully implemented many of the strategies outlined in his original pitch, demonstrating a clear vision and determination to succeed.
As a token of appreciation for Caan's interest and support, Clive presented the Dragon with a bespoke diamond lapel pin, a stunning example of his company's craftsmanship.
