The heart is a brilliant cut with a cleft at the top and a point at the bottom. It takes real skill to cut well, and a well-cut heart has a clear outline, even lobes and plenty of sparkle. With a heart diamond, a solitaire shows off the full outline of the stone.

A solitaire is the purest engagement ring: one diamond on a plain band, with nothing to compete with the stone. It never dates, lets more light into the diamond than any other setting, and sits easily beside almost any wedding ring.
Why 18ct rose gold?
18ct rose gold is 75% pure gold, warmed to a soft pink by a little copper in the alloy. It is not plated, so the colour never wears off, and it is slightly harder than yellow gold. Choosing your heart diamond
Choose a diamond of at least half a carat, as the heart outline is hard to see on smaller stones. A ratio close to 1.00 keeps the shape balanced. Hearts can hold colour in their lobes, so G to H is a good choice.
