18ct Rose Gold Emerald Cut Solitaire Engagement Rings

18ct rose gold emerald cut solitaire engagement rings, handmade to order by our family workshop in the Cotswolds and set with a diamond you choose yourself. The emerald cut is a long, step-cut diamond with clean lines and broad flashes of light, for an elegant, Art Deco look. A solitaire holds one diamond on a clean band, so all the attention goes to the stone.

The emerald cut diamond

The emerald cut uses long, flat step facets instead of the brilliant facets of a round. Rather than sparkle, it gives broad flashes of light and a clear "hall of mirrors" look into the stone. Its long shape and cut corners give a quiet, elegant ring that looks larger than its weight. With a emerald diamond, a solitaire shows off the full outline of the stone.

Why a solitaire?

A solitaire is the purest engagement ring: one diamond on a plain band, with nothing to compete with the stone. It never dates, lets more light into the diamond than any other setting, and sits easily beside almost any wedding ring.

Why 18ct rose gold?

18ct rose gold is 75% pure gold, warmed to a soft pink by a little copper in the alloy. It is not plated, so the colour never wears off, and it is slightly harder than yellow gold. Some of our rose gold designs set the diamond in a white platinum head for the whitest look, with the pink band around it. For a lower price, see our 9ct rose gold engagement rings.

Choosing your emerald diamond

The open step facets show more of the inside of the stone, so clarity matters more than on a round: VS2 or better is a safe choice. A ratio of 1.30 to 1.50 gives the classic shape. The cut corners protect the stone, so it is a practical choice for everyday wear.

Choose your own diamond

Every ring is set with a centre diamond you choose yourself, natural or lab-grown, from our live stock. Each stone has its grading report, and the ring page shows the finished price before you buy.

Made to order in the Cotswolds

Every ring is made to order in our family workshop in Bourton-on-the-Water, where we have made fine jewellery since 1969. We use 100% recycled precious metal, every ring is independently hallmarked, and each one takes 3 to 4 weeks. Delivery is free across the UK, and returns are free within 30 days.

Frequently Asked Questions

VS2 or better is a safe choice. Step-cut facets are open and flat, so inclusions are easier to see than in a brilliant-cut diamond. Check the stone's photos before you choose.

Yes. A plain wedding band sits neatly beside most solitaires, and if the setting sits low, a shaped band fits around it. Our wedding ring designer makes matching plain bands.

No. The colour comes from the copper in the alloy, all the way through the metal, so there is no plating to wear off. If anything, rose gold warms slightly with age.

Yes. Every ring can be set with a natural or lab-grown diamond from our live stock. Both are real diamonds; lab-grown stones cost less for the same size and grade.
