The cushion cut diamond
The cushion cut is a square or slightly long diamond with softly rounded corners, like a pillow. Its larger facets give big, bold flashes of light, with a warm, vintage feel that goes back over two hundred years. The bezel traces the outline of the cushion diamond in a clean line of metal.
Why a bezel setting?
A bezel wraps a smooth rim of metal right round the diamond instead of holding it with claws. It protects the edge of the stone, sits low on the finger and has nothing to catch on clothes or hair, so it suits an active life and everyday wear.
Choosing your cushion diamond
Our diamond search splits cushions by shape: square cushions have a ratio up to 1.08, and elongated cushions start at 1.15. Cushions can hold a little colour in their corners, so G to H is a good colour choice, with SI1 or better clarity.
Choose your own diamond
Every ring is set with a centre diamond you choose yourself, natural or lab-grown, from our live stock. Each stone has its grading report, and the ring page shows the finished price before you buy.

Frequently Asked Questions
It is down to taste. A square cushion (ratio up to 1.08) gives a classic, soft look; an elongated cushion (1.15 and above) looks larger face up and lengthens the finger. You can search for either.
The metal rim covers the very edge of the stone, so it can look a touch smaller than in claws. In return the diamond is fully protected, and the clean frame gives a crisp, modern outline.
Yes. Every ring can be set with a natural or lab-grown diamond from our live stock. Both are real diamonds; lab-grown stones cost less for the same size and grade.
