The radiant has the cut corners of an emerald cut but brilliant facets inside, so it sparkles more than any other square or rectangular shape. The cut corners make it hard-wearing, and it comes square or elongated. With a radiant diamond, a solitaire shows off the full outline of the stone.
Why a solitaire?
A solitaire is the purest engagement ring: one diamond on a plain band, with nothing to compete with the stone. It never dates, lets more light into the diamond than any other setting, and sits easily beside almost any wedding ring.
Why platinum?
We use 950 platinum, hallmarked in the UK. It is about 95% pure, so it is naturally white all the way through and never needs re-plating. It is heavier than gold and very hard-wearing: rather than wearing away, the metal moves over time and takes on a soft satin look, which a quick polish brings back to a high shine. It is also the best choice if you have sensitive skin.
Choosing your radiant diamond
Our diamond search splits radiants into square and elongated. A ratio of about 1.00 to 1.05 gives a square; 1.20 to 1.35 is a popular rectangle. The brilliant facets hide small inclusions well, so SI1 clarity often looks clean.

Every ring is made to order in our family workshop in Bourton-on-the-Water, where we have made fine jewellery since 1969. We use 100% recycled precious metal, every ring is independently hallmarked, and each one takes 3 to 4 weeks. Delivery is free across the UK, and returns are free within 30 days.
