Platinum emerald cut bezel-set engagement rings, handmade to order by our family workshop in the Cotswolds and set with a diamond you choose yourself. The emerald cut is a long, step-cut diamond with clean lines and broad flashes of light, for an elegant, Art Deco look. A bezel setting holds the diamond in a smooth rim of metal instead of claws, for a sleek, secure ring.

The emerald cut diamond
The emerald cut uses long, flat step facets instead of the brilliant facets of a round. Rather than sparkle, it gives broad flashes of light and a clear "hall of mirrors" look into the stone. Its long shape and cut corners give a quiet, elegant ring that looks larger than its weight. The bezel traces the outline of the emerald diamond in a clean line of metal.
Why a bezel setting?
A bezel wraps a smooth rim of metal right round the diamond instead of holding it with claws. It protects the edge of the stone, sits low on the finger and has nothing to catch on clothes or hair, so it suits an active life and everyday wear.
Why platinum?
We use 950 platinum, hallmarked in the UK. It is about 95% pure, so it is naturally white all the way through and never needs re-plating. It is heavier than gold and very hard-wearing: rather than wearing away, the metal moves over time and takes on a soft satin look, which a quick polish brings back to a high shine. It is also the best choice if you have sensitive skin.
Choosing your emerald diamond
The open step facets show more of the inside of the stone, so clarity matters more than on a round: VS2 or better is a safe choice. A ratio of 1.30 to 1.50 gives the classic shape. The cut corners protect the stone, so it is a practical choice for everyday wear.
Choose your own diamond
Every ring is set with a centre diamond you choose yourself, natural or lab-grown, from our live stock. Each stone has its grading report, and the ring page shows the finished price before you buy.
Made to order in the Cotswolds
Every ring is made to order in our family workshop in Bourton-on-the-Water, where we have made fine jewellery since 1969. We use 100% recycled precious metal, every ring is independently hallmarked, and each one takes 3 to 4 weeks. Delivery is free across the UK, and returns are free within 30 days.
Frequently Asked Questions
VS2 or better is a safe choice. Step-cut facets are open and flat, so inclusions are easier to see than in a brilliant-cut diamond. Check the stone's photos before you choose.
The metal rim covers the very edge of the stone, so it can look a touch smaller than in claws. In return the diamond is fully protected, and the clean frame gives a crisp, modern outline.
All precious metals mark with wear. Platinum moves rather than wearing away, so it keeps its weight and holds the diamond securely. Over time it takes on a soft satin finish, and we can polish it back to a bright shine whenever you like.
Yes. Every ring can be set with a natural or lab-grown diamond from our live stock. Both are real diamonds; lab-grown stones cost less for the same size and grade.
